A Google search for “self-help books” turns up 5,540,000,000 results. And while that seems like a typo, walk into any bookstore. Look on Amazon. Go to the library. Look on your therapist’s bookshelf! You’d think by now we’d have the heart figured out, and healing should be as easy as turning a page. So why are we in a mental health crisis? Why are our hearts hurting so deeply? Because no matter how much research we do, how much therapy we have, how much personal development and evolution we do, we’re just human at the end of the day. There is no one one solution. No magical book. No magical anything. But there is ALWAYS learning. There is understanding. There is listening.

I think Emotional First Aid is a great way of talking about resources that can complement your healing journey. I wanted to share some of the things that resonated with me, and you can make up your own mind.
